Phuket — As severe flooding continues to impact Hat Yai and several areas across Southern Thailand, Vachira Phuket Hospital has launched a high-priority humanitarian operation. At 10:00 AM on November 27, 2025, under the leadership of Dr. Veerasak Lorthongkham, Director of Vachira Phuket Hospital, the hospital deployed its first emergency medical response team along with critical medical supplies to support overwhelmed frontline units in Songkhla Province.

The first response unit, consisting of five medical personnel — including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and nurse aides — departed with essential medicines, emergency kits, and first-aid equipment. Additional medical staff currently undergoing emergency medicine training in Bangkok are also heading directly to the disaster zone to reinforce onsite medical capacity.

According to Dr. Veerasak, this mission represents not only a direct response to Hat Yai Hospital’s urgent call for support but also a powerful demonstration of compassion, solidarity, and selflessness from Vachira Phuket’s personnel, who volunteered to step into high-risk areas to aid affected communities.

The hospital has also launched the Flood Relief Donation Center on the first floor of its Emergency & Cardiac Center building, accepting dry food, drinking water, and essential supplies until 5:00 PM today. All donated items will be consolidated and transported to Hat Yai.

Vachira Phuket’s mobile medical unit is fully equipped to establish a field hospital and conduct water-based operations using boats supported by partner agencies, ensuring rapid access to hard-hit communities.

In this time of crisis, the hospital urges the public to come together and extend a hand to those affected in Hat Yai and across Southern Thailand — reinforcing that collective compassion remains the strongest force in overcoming disaster.
